Benson-Ames Alliance

bensonamesalliance.jpgWHO WE ARE
The Benson-Ames Alliance was formed in September 2005 to plan for and implement the revitalization of the Benson-Ames area. It is bordered by Western Avenue on the south, Sorensen Parkway on the north, Saddle Creek Road/Fontenelle Boulevard on the east and 72nd Street on the west. Omaha by Design serves as the manager and administrator of the Benson-Ames Alliance.

OUR PLAN
In November 2006, the Omaha City Council unanimously approved the Benson-Ames Alliance Plan, which sets forth a new framework of principles for future development and redevelopment projects, paying special attention to the design of commercial centers and their relationship to surrounding neighborhoods. It encourages mixed-use centers that blend retail, residential and office elements to achieve balanced and truly livable neighborhoods.

OUR LEADERSHIP
The Benson-Ames Alliance Steering Council meets the second Wednesday of January, March, May, July, September and November from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Omaha Home for Boys. The council has developed five working committees – Business Affairs, Events/Volunteer, Finance/ Development, Neighborhood Affairs and Nominating.
